FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast women’s basketball team earned the No. 11 spot in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll, announced on Tuesday evening. The Eagles were ranked No. 14 in last week’s mid-major poll.

Green Bay, Gonzaga, Princeton, Delaware and Toledo are the top five teams in the poll.

The women's Mid-Major Top 25 is comprised of teams from the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast Conference.

The Green and Blue are the lone Atlantic Sun Conference team represented in this week’s Top 25. Stetson is receiving votes in the poll.

In their last game, the 2011-12 home opener against defending Big Ten champion Michigan State (Nov. 19), the Eagles got double-double and some late game heroics from reigning College Sports Madness A-Sun Player of the Week Sarah Hansen (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane HS). Hansen, who drained the game-winning free throw with 0.4 seconds left in the game, grabbed 13 rebounds and scored a game-high 20 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and 9-of-11 from the charity stripe.

FGCU (2-1) returns to the court on Friday, Nov. 25 when they welcome the Richmond Spiders (4-0) to Alico Arena. Tip is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
