Jacksonville, Fla. - Chelsea Lyles scored a game-high 21 points as the Eagles defeated the Ospreys of UNF, 57-48, to extend their winning streak to 13 games.
FGCU jumped out to an early 17-10 lead with 12:34 remaining, after Lyles drained a 3-pointer off an assist from Kelsey Jacobson (Barnesville, Minn.), and never looked back. The Eagles went on to outscore the Ospreys 17-12 over the final 12:34 of the half to take a 34-22 lead into the locker room at half.
FGCU was outscored 26-23 in the second half, but held off the Lady Ospreys and won by the final of 57-48.
Chelsea Lyles (Colorado Springs, Col.) scored a game-high 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 from behind the arc, while also adding five rebounds and three steals. Shannon Murphy (Brighton, Mich.) was the only other Eagles that registered double digit points. Murphy finished with 10 points and four assists.
