FORT MYERS, Fla. - Four Eagles scored in double figures as FGCU extended its winning streak to seven games by defeating Lipscomb by the final of 89-46 on Thursday night.
Lipscomb jumped out to an early 13-8 lead, but the Eagles used a 33-12 run over the final 14 minutes of the first half to take control of the game.
In second half, FGCU continued to pour it on. The Eagles out scored the Lady Bison 48-21 in the second half to win their ninth conference game of the season by the final score of 89-46.
The Eagles received contributions from every player that hit the floor. Chelsea Lyles (Colorado Springs, Col.) scored a game-high 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the arc, while also adding six assists. Shannon Murphy (Brighton, Mich.) scored 14 points and dished six assists. Brittany Brown (Flint, Mich.) finished with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Kelsey Jacobson (Barnesville, Minn.) scored 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field. Kristina Mingos (Mission Hills, Kan.), in her third career start, scored nine points and grabbed four boards. Adrianne McNally (Howell, Mich.) chipped in with seven points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Emma Beddome (Melbourne, Austrailia) had a solid performance with five points, six boards, and five assists. Amanda Fessenden (Wichita, Kan.) posted seven points and Diana Jacklin (Berwyn, Ill.) finished with three points, five rebounds, three blocks, and two assists.
The next game for the Lady Eagles is Saturday, January 31 as the Belmont Bruins pay a visit to Fort Myers for a 1 p.m. tip-off at Alico Arena.
