FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU men's and women's basketball teams will play host to the Campbell Camels for A-Sun double-header action. Both games can be seen live on A-Sun.TV and tip-off for the first game is set for 1 p.m.

(Women) Last Time vs. Campbell (Jan. 28, 2008)
Buies Creek, N.C. – Delia De La Torre scored a game-high 16 points as the Eagles defeated Campbell 78-44 on Monday night to win their fifth consecutive Atlantic Sun conference game.

After pulling ahead 5-4, in the first 3:39 of the game, the Eagles shot 55.1 percent (27of-49) from the floor, including 50 percent (12-of-24) from the three-point line, to stay ahead and defeat the Camels for their fifth straight conference win of the season.

With the win, FGCU improves to a 10-7 overall record (5-2 A-Sun), while the Camels fall to 8-12 overall (3-4 A-Sun).

Five Eagles scored in double-figures, led by De La Torre’s (Las Cruces, N.M.) 16 points and six rebounds. For the game, de La Torre made 7-of-10 attempts from the field, 1-of-1 from long-distance and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe. She also had one assist, one block and one steal.

Shannon Murphy (Brighton, Mich.) tallied 15 points. Murphy dished out three assists and grabbed two rebounds, while knocking down 5-of-7 shots from behind the three-point line.

Chelsea Dermyer (Fort Collins, Col.) registered 14 points, eight assists and five rebounds. In 28 minutes of action, Dermyer connected on 5-of-7 shots from the field and 2-of-4 from behind the three-point line.

Adrianne McNally (Howell, Mich.) and Ashley Haegele (Imperial, Mo.) finished with 11 points and 10 points, respectively. McNally added two assists and one rebound, while Haegele tallied three rebounds and three steals.

Campbell was led by Lynish Ochogu’s eight points. The Eagles held the Camels leading scorer, Marlena Murphy to only two points, 12 points below her average.

(Men) Last Time vs. Campbell (Jan. 24, 2008)
BUIES CREEK, N.C., - Roman Narmbaye (Chad, Africa) scored a career-high 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the year in FGCU’s 78-73 win in Carter Gym over Campbell on Thursday night. With the win FGCU improves to 7-13 overall and evens their A-Sun record to 3-3 while Campbell falls to 8-10 and 3-3 in the league.

Narmbaye set the tone early, scoring two of his 11 first half points on the first possession. The Camels were able to take a 10-6 lead, their largest of the half, at the 13:22 mark with a three by Jonathan Rodriguez. FGCU regained the lead at 12-10 on a triple by Landon Adler (Decatur, Ind.). FGCU was able to take a 23-14 lead with 5:19 to go after a pair of three’s by Delvin Franklin (Houston, Texas). Campbell closed the half on an 8-1 run to cut FGCU’s lead to 26-25 at the break.

The first 10 minutes of the second half saw seven ties and the lead changed hands four times. The Camels took their largest lead of the game at the 5:20 mark after Jonathan Rodriguez drilled a pair of free-throw’s at 62-56. FGCU rallied, and overcame a deficit under the 5:00 mark for the first time this season, outscoring Campbell 11-5 over the next three minutes to regain the lead with the help of the three.

FGCU, which was ice-cold from the free-throw line early, drilled 5-of-6 over the final minute of the game to leave Buies Creek with their second A-Sun road win. In the second half, Casey Wohlleb (Boca Raton, Fla.) took over, scoring all 21 of his points in the second. FGCU was on fire from outside in the second half, going 8-of-13 from downtown and shooting 56.7% from the floor in the second period.

The Eagles recorded a season-high 11 blocks and shot 50.0% from the floor for the second straight A-Sun contest, both wins. The Eagles held Campbell to 35.9% from the floor and just 5-of-15 from the arc.

The A-Sun’s leading scorer Jonathan Rodriguez scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds for the Camels. Reggie Bishop added 13 while Preston Dodson added 11 for Campbell.

Wohlleb’s 21 led FGCU while Narmbaye’s added his 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting while picking up a game-high 11 points and also a career-high five blocks. Rob Quaintance (Glendale, Az.) added 16 points and nine assists.
