FORT MYERS, Fla. - Winning streaks and a share of first place in the A-Sun will be on the line Monday night when the FGCU women's basketball team takes on conference foe ETSU in the Atlantic Sun game of the week in Alico Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

Sports Radio 770 and B-103 Ladies Night.

The first 300 ladies through the door will receive complimentary roses compliments of ‘Say it with Flowers’. The Southwest Florida Diamond District is also giving away two $250 Gift Certificates to a pair of Lucky Ladies at Halftime.  

A WIN MONDAY WOULD ...

- extend FGCU’s winning streak to 9 games

- make the Eagles 14-7 overall

- make the Eagles 9-2 in A-Sun play

- make FGCU 146-28 all-time

- make Smesko’s record 207-55 overall and 146-28 at FGCU

- This is the first meeting between the two teams. 

 

A Streak Will Be Snapped

FGCU has won eight consecutive games. The Eagles winning streak is currently the longest winning streak in the A-Sun, and second longest in the A-Sun this season. ETSU has currently won seven consecutive games and eight straight conference contests. Jacksonville won 10 consecutive games earlier this season for the conference’s longest streak, and second-longest in the nation at that time.

Last Time Out (ETSU @ Stetson - W, 73-62)

The ETSU post players combined for 57 of the 73 points ... sophomore Latisha Belcher scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds ... senior Jenny Norman hit a career-best 10 field goals, ending the afternoon with 20 points in 21 minutes ... Michele DeVault moved past Angie Fickes for 11th on the all-time Lady Buccaneer scoring list with 1,110 (17pts on Saturday) ... DeVault also surpassed the 200+ plateau for career threes made (now at 202) ... Belcher and Norman became the first ETSU pair to score at least 20 points since last season ... ETSU has now won a season-high seven straight and program best eight consecutive conference games ... the Lady Bucs are now 5-0 against Stetson in A-Sun play.
