FORT MYERS, FL – Junior guard Candy Myers scored a career-high 27 points to lead Florida Gulf Coast University to a 97-60 rout of Western New Mexico University in women’s basketball action at Alico Arena Saturday evening.
Myers (New Batavia, OH), the third-leading three-point shooter in the country, connected on 10-of-18 from the floor, including 7-of-14 from beyond the arc to lead four players in double figures for the Eagles. Myers, who has hit a three-pointer in 33 consecutive games, tied the school record with seven three-pointers for the third time this season. Trish Fleming (’03) is the only other Eagles player to make seven in a game.
