FORT MYERS, Fla. – In the midst of training for the fast approaching fall season, Anthony Morales has been named an assistant coach for the FGCU Men’s and Women’s Cross Country programs.

"In Anthony, we've found someone who has a great deal of enthusiasm and good experience as both a player and a coach,” said FGCU cross country head coach Cassandra Goodson. “His references from former coaches were outstanding.  I’m excited to have him join our program.”

Morales comes to southwest Florida after having received his Bachelors of Science in Sport Management from the University of Florida. While at Florida, Morales served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for two years with the Cross Country and Track & Field programs. The Gators won three NCAA Men's Track & Field National Championships (Indoor 2011, Indoor 2012 and Outdoor 2013) while he served as an assistant. Morales was also a part of UF winning the 2011 Men's SEC Indoor Championship, as well as the 2012 Women's SEC Indoor Championship.
