FORT MYERS, Fla. – Following a successful drive in November, FGCU Athletics officials announced Tuesday a charitable canned food drive as part of the #FEEDFGCU campaign which will take place throughout the month of April at all Eagles' home events to benefit the FGCU Campus Food Pantry.
Â
Beginning with a softball doubleheader against FIU on Wednesday, fans will have the opportunity to donate canned goods at up to 22 home events over the course of 12 different days throughout the month of April. A complete list of home events in April is at the end of this release.
Â
Boxes will be posted at the marketing tables upon entry into each venue, and FGCU hopes to be the top-donating university in the ASUN. The food will go directly to the FGCU Campus Food Pantry to help students experiencing food insecurity.
Â
This past November – the fourth-straight year of the drive – 472 pounds of food from 430 items were donated.
Â
FGCU Athletics officials sponsor events throughout the year to benefit the FGCU Campus Food Pantry, one of the department's charities of choice. For more information, including how to make a contribution, please visit
