Men's Tennis Wraps Up Spring with Trip to Jacksonville

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU men’s tennis team will look to close out the regular season on high note as it travels to Jacksonville, Fla. for a pair of A-Sun duals. The Eagles head to Jacksonville on Friday at 10 a.m. and wrap up the year against UNF on Saturday at 1 p.m.

With a record of 3-16 (1-7 A-Sun), the Eagles travel seniors Steve Binninger (St. Augustine, Fla./Saint Joseph Academy), Carlo Checchia (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Ceteb/Coastal Carolina University), Mitchell Lvovsky (Dania Beach, Fla./Keystone HS/Wingate University) and Frank Aceirno (Palm Coast, Fla./Flagler Palm Coast HS), junior Matthew Rock (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Jacksonville University), sophomores Collin Brown (Tallahassee, Fla./Florida State University School) and Gabriel Echeverry (Popayan, Columbia/Gimnasio Calibio), as well as, freshman Dean Tsamas (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay HS) to the weekend contests.

The Dolphins have won their last two A-Sun duals against Belmont (4-1) and Lipscomb (4-3), and bring a 4-12 (2-5 A-Sun) record into the match with the Eagles.

Putting their four-match A-Sun winning streak on the line, the Ospreys head to Stetson for their Friday meeting. UNF defeated Mercer (5-2), Kennesaw State (7-0), Lipscomb (4-3) and Belmont (6-1) to move their record to 11-6 (6-1 A-Sun) this season.
