Men's Tennis Swept by North Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU men’s tennis team was swept by the North Florida Ospreys, 7-0, on Thursday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex. Thibaud Aime and Mitchell Lvovsky each forced third set tiebreaks, but both came up short for the Eagles, who fall to 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in the A-Sun. UNF improves to 8-3, 1-0 in conference.

In doubles play, the team of Aime/Rock defeated Albretch/Buerchner, 8-1, but the Ospreys won the No. 2 and 3 matches to take the doubles point.

In singles action, Aime (Figeac, France) and Lvovsky (Dania Beach, Fla.) were each able to force a tiebreak after splitting the first two sets, but both lost in the tiebreak. Aime fell to Moritz Buerchner, 7-5, 4-6, 10-5, and Lvovsky lost to Kurt Gattiker, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.

The Eagles will host Jacksonville on Saturday, March 6, at the FGCU Tennis Complex. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
