FORT MYERS, Fla. – The 2009 ITA Southeast Regional Tournaments get underway today, and four FGCU athletes will be participating. Thibaud Aime and Matthew Rock will be in Athens, Georgia, for the men’s tournament, and Priscillia Villemond and Farah Leclercq will be in Atlanta, Georgia for the women’s tournament.
Thibaud Aime (Figeac, France) will be taking on Mark Oljaca from South Florida in the first round, while Matthew Rock (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) will battle with Florida Atlantic’s Georg Matschke. Aime and Rock will pair up in the doubles competition, drawing Georgia’s Alex Hill and Will Reynolds for their first matchup.
In the women’s tournament, Priscillia Villemond (Les Bordes, France) is set to take on the number ten seed, Diana Nakic of Georgia State. Farah Leclercq (Ocala, Fla.) drew USF’s Jessica Zok for her first-round opponent. In doubles, Villemond and Leclercq will challenge conference foe Stetson’s Shannon Gunning and Unnati Purushotham.
