FORT MYERS, Fla. – Last Friday, members of the FGCU men’s soccer team volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties.

“This was a great opportunity for our guys to give back to the community in a uniquely hands-on way,” said head coach Bob Butehorn. “It was a great bonding experience for our team and I know that the guys had a good time painting. I am happy to have been a part of the effort and I speak for the entire team when I say that we hope to work with Habitat for Humanity even more in the future.”

As part of their efforts, the team painted the interior of a home in Cape Coral, part of a complete home renovation that will be taking place over the next few weeks. Once complete, the newly renovated house will be dedicated to a family in need.

Members of the FGCU men’s soccer team hope to attend the dedication ceremony in the coming weeks.
