FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer team will hold open tryouts on February 3 from 3:30-5 p.m. at the FGCU Soccer Complex.
Led by the Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year Bob Butehorn, the Eagles (12-6-2) successfully defended their Atlantic Sun regular season title with a 7-1 conference mark and entered the A-Sun Tournament as the league’s No. 1 seed this past fall season. The Eagles earned a pair of one-goal victories over fourth-seeded Mercer (2-1) and sixth-seeded tournament host ETSU (1-0) to clinch their first-ever A-Sun Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament berth in the program’s first year of postseason eligibility.
Tryouts are open ONLY to FGCU students that are enrolled full-time.

Potential student-athletes need to provide the following to Coach Cepero by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1 if they would like to participate in the tryout:
• A copy of their Spring 2012 Gulfline schedule
• Proof of Medical Insurance (Tryout Waiver Form)
• Proof of Physical Examination (Physical Form)
*Potential student-athletes can arrange this by making an appointment with the FGCU Student Health Center. A sickle cell test is also required as part of the physical examination. Results take approximately 48 hours to be returned*
• Signed Liability Waiver Form (FGCU Liability Waiver Form) parent signature required if under the age of 18.
