FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s soccer program and head coach Bob Butehorn has announced the signing of six National Letters of Intent for the FGCU class of 2013. The talented 2013 recruiting class is comprised of players from Florida, Texas, Indiana, Canada, and the Dominican Republic.

The homegrown talent features the attack-minded outside player Deion Jones and the crafty midfield ability of Andres Navas. From the Lonestar State, the Eagles welcome Alexei Reyes, rated as one of the top 50 recruits in the country by Topdrawer Soccer, who plays a central midfielder role. Jeremy Vollmer, the Indiana Player of the Year, will add a tough, competitive, physical presence to the central part of the midfield and defense. Canadian forward Jelani Smith brings speed, size and a knack for finding the net. Finally, defender Francisco Ubiera from the Dominican Republic brings a wealth of national team experience to the FGCU backline.

“This is another outstanding class of talented student-athletes that will represent our program,” said Bob Butehorn. “Collectively they will strengthen our team and assist in the building of a winning tradition of FGCU soccer."
