FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer team kept up its winning ways by defeating ETSU on Friday night by the score of 3-0.
FGCU improves to 5-10-1 overall and 3-5-0 in the A-Sun. The Bucs fall to 5-9-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the conference.
FGCU scored first to take an early 1-0 lead and never looked back. In the 44th minute Francesco DiStefano (Kissimee, Fla.) blasted a shot past the keeper and into the back of the net to put FGCU up 1-0.
The Eagles added their second goal of the game in the 73rd minute when Brandon Price (Melbourne Beach, Fla.) drew the keeper out and found a wide open Scott Harrison (Cocoa, Fla.) in front of the net to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Less than 13 minutes later, Kevin Ante (Miami, Fla.) found a wide open Price, who won a one-on-one with the keeper and smashed a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal, to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
FGCU starting keeper Adam Glick (Leola, Pa.) recorded one save in goal for the Eagles and registered his third shutout of the season. FGCU dominated play for most of the night and outshot ETSU 18-4.
The Eagles will be back in action Sunday when they host USC Upstate. The match is slated to kick-off at 12:30 p.m.
