FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer dropped its fourth conference match of the season by losing to Jacksonville 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 3-9-1 overall and 1-4-0 in the A-Sun and the Dolphins improve to 8-7-0 overall and 5-1-0 in conference
The first period ended with Jacksonville taking a 1-1 lead into the intermission. FGCU was outshot 5-2 in the first half.
In the second half, the young Eagles had a few opportunities to score but came up short as JU went on to add another goal in the 86th minute and took the victory.
JU goalkeeper Joey Sanchez picked up the shutout while Adam Glick (Leola, Pa.) notched four stops in the loss.
The Eagles will be back in action this weekend when they head to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Belmont and Lipscomb. FGCU will face Belmont on Oct. 24 at 2 pm and take on Lipscomb on Oct. 26 at 3:30 pm.
