Miami, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer dropped the season finale of its inaugural season by losing to the FIU Panthers 2-0 on Wednesday evening.

The first period was played fairly even with and ended with a scoreless tie. FGCU (8-10-1) was outshot 5-2 and lost the corner kick battle 3-2 in the first half.

In the second half FIU added two goals and controlled the period and took seven shots to FGCU’s three. Chris Caporaletti scored both FIU goals, whith the first coming off a bicycle kick and the second coming off a pass from Mario Franca.

FIU’s Wilson tallied two saves while Adam Glick (Leola, Pa.) notched five stops for FGCU. The Eagles were outshot 12-5 and lost the corner kick battle 4-3. Ben Foerstner (Tampa, Fla.) and Trent Anderson (Tampa, Fla.) led the Eagles in shots (2) and shots on goal (1).
