FORT MYERS, Fla. - Five different Eagles scored in double figures as FGCU won for the sixth consecutive time inside Alico Arena, knocking off USC Upstate in dominating fashion, 80-56. Kyle Marks and Reggie Chambers each scored 16 points, Reed Baker and Delvin Franklin each scored 11 points, and Ed Rolax scored 10 points for the Eagles.

The Spartans came out and immediately jumped on the Eagles, scoring the first five points of the game, and holding a lead for the first eight minutes of the game. Reed Baker's layup with 11:57 left in the half gave FGCU their first lead of the day, 13-12, and they would not surrender the lead for the rest of the game. Reggie Chambers' three-pointer with six seconds left in the half capped an 8-0 run for FGCU that sent the Eagles into the locker room holding a 38-24 advantage.

FGCU maintained a healthy cushion over the Spartans throughout the second half, never allowing the lead to dip below 14 points. A jumper from George Erkvania with 12:18 left gave the Eagles a 60-39 lead. From that point the lead stayed above 20 points for the remainer of the game. In a half that featured mostly reserves playing for both sides, Ed Rolax scored 6 points and Addison Smith scored 5 points for the Eagles.

For the Spartans (2-12, 1-4), Josh Chavis led all scorers with 18 points on 7-14 shooting from the field including 4-11 from three-point range. Bobby Davis recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Mezie Uzochukwu pulled down 8 boards in addition to scoring 4 points and dishing out 3 assists.

For the Eagles (7-10, 3-3), Kyle Marks scored 16 points and pulled down 4 boards. Reggie Chambers also scored 16 points and added 4 assists and 3 steals. Delvin Franklin scored 11 points in addition to grabbing 5 rebounds. Reed Baker handed out a game-high 6 assists along with scoring 11 points. Ed Rolax was the fifth Eagle in double figures, scoring 10 points as well as pulling down 6 boards and swiping 3 steals.

The Eages will close out their three-game homestand on Monday night against East Tennessee State. Monday will be Karaoke Night at Alico Arena featuring a halftime performance by area karaoke legend Peter Barnett. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
