NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Reed Baker and Delvin Franklin combined to score 38 points as the Eagles fell to Lipscomb, 82-76, Saturday night at Allen Arena.
With the win, Lipscomb improves to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in conference, while the Eagles fall to 5-9 on the season and 1-2 in the A-Sun.
FGCU was in control for most of the first half, until the Bisons went on a 9-0 run over the final 2:50 of the first half and took a 38-30 lead into the intermission.
Lipscomb began the second half similar to the way that they ended the first half. The Bisons went on a 11-3 run to push their lead to 49-33 over the first 4:44 of the half. FGCU continued to fight to get back into the contest and eventually cut the Bisons lead down to five points with only nine seconds left, which gave the Eagles no time to continue their comeback.
Baker led the Eagles with 23 points and five rebounds. Baker shot 7-of-17 from the field, including 6-of-9 from three-point range. Franklin chipped in with 15 points and a team-high three assists.
The next game for the Eagles is Monday, January 5 when they face Belmont. Tip-off for the contest is set for 8 p.m.
