FORT MYERS, Fla., -The FGCU men’s basketball team returns to Alico Arena after a three-game road trip as they host Jacksonville on Thursday night. The Eagles come in with a 9-19 record overall and 5-9 record in league play while Jacksonville sits in second place in the A-Sun with a 15-11 overall record and 11-3 in conference action.

The two teams met earlier in the year with Jacksonville won 74-55. That game was the second of a six game win streak. JU is currently on a three game winning streak, all at home with two going to overtime. Ben Smith leads the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game but over 17 points during conference games. Marcus Allen leads the squad in rebounding at 7.8 boards per game.

The Eagles have dropped three straight, all on the road with two going overtime. Senior point guard Rob Quaintance (Glendale, Az.) has moved into 22nd place in the Atlantic Sun for steals in a single season with 71. He also needs just 13 more assists to crack the A-Sun’s top 25 as well. Casey Wohlleb has scored 20+ points 10 times this year and became the 2nd Eagle to top 1000 points on FGCU’s road trip.
