Dave Balza has announced the signing of another student-athlete to the FGCU men's basketball program. Ben Vega has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles next season and becomes the third player to sign with FGCU this off-season as he joins incoming junior college transfers Derrick O'Neil and George Erkvania.

Casey Wohlleb scored a career high 29 points as the Florida Gulf Coast University men's basketball team defeated Atlantic Sun Conference foe North Florida 74-71 in overtime on Senior Night at Alico Arena. With the win the Eagles are now 10-20 on the season and 6-10 in the Atlantic Sun while the Osprey's fall to 3-25 and 1-15 in the A-Sun.

Casey Wohlleb scored 20 points to reach 1000 for his career at FGCU, becoming the second player to reach the plateau. Wohlleb now has 1016 for his career as an Eagle. FGCU fell 75-60 at Kennesaw State on Saturday night.

The FGCU Men's Basketball team raced to a 17 point lead and saw Mercer cut the lead to one on several occasions, and pull away for a 76-74 win in overtime. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 9-17 overall and 5-7 in A-Sun play while Mercer improves to 11-14 and evens their A-Sun record at 6-6.

The Eagles shot 54.5% from the field including 65% in the second half to erase a 12-point halftime deficit to defeat Atlantic Sun Conference foe USC-Upstate 72-69 on Sunday afternoon. With the victory the Eagles move to 9-15 and 5-6 in the A-Sun, while the Spartans fall to 6-19 and 4-7 in the A-Sun.

The FGCU men's basketball team is teaming up with the and will be holding a "Coaches vs. Cancer" day on Friday Feb. 8, as the Eagles host ETSU at 7 p.m. in Alico Arena. The FGCU coaching staff will wear sneakers instead of dress shoes with their usual game attire and will also wear orange Coaches vs. Cancer bracelets to show support for the American Cancer Society and the fight against cancer during the game.

A record 4,216 fans dressed in blue, packed into Alico Arena for the school's first ever Atlantic Sun home game. The Eagles also made their first ever appearance in front of a TV audience at home. With the setback, the Eagles fall to 5-11 (1-2 A-Sun) while the Hatters moved to 6-10 (2-1 A-Sun).
