Florida Gulf Coast University men's basketball won for the eighth time in nine games Saturday afternoon as they defeated Albany State 48-44 in NCAA Division II men's basketball action at Alico Arena. The Eagles said goodbye to the first four-year members of their basketball program, as graduating seniors Gabe Pean and Marcus Parker made their final appearances in an FGCU uniform.

A game-tying three-point field goal attempt by sophomore Casey Wohlleb rolled in and out as time expired as Morehouse College held on for a 71-68 win Friday night over Florida Gulf Coast University in NCAA Division II men's basketball action at Alico Arena. Wohlleb (Boca Raton, Fla.) had rebounded a missed three-pointer by teammate Cecil Avant (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) with just less than five seconds to go and raced to the right corner for the potential game-tying shot.

The Florida Gulf Coast University men's basketball team will try to end the 2005-06 on a winning note as it hosts a pair of regional foes at Alico Arena this weekend to close out the season. FGCU, which has won seven consecutive games to improve to 17-11, will host Morehouse College (15-11) on 7 p.m. on Friday and Albany State (15-10) at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Florida Gulf Coast University men's basketball coach Dave Balza announced today that Casey Wohlleb has transferred from Marshall University to join the Eagles this fall. A 6-7 swingman, he will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. He becomes the fifth Division I transfer to join the Eagles for the 2005-06 season.

A transfer from the University of Charleston, an NCAA Division II institution in West Virginia, Dunbar has one season of eligibility remaining.
