Former Eagles Find Success Overseas
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Several former players of Dave Balza’s FGCU teams have gone on to play professionally overseas, but former Eagles Kevin Martin and Casey Wohlleb are currently making noise abroad.
Martin (Maplewood, N.J.), a 2005 graduate, is currently playing in Germany for ratiopharm Ulm. The 6-10 center is currently averaging 8.1 points and 4.6 rebounds, while shooting 52.4 -percent from the field (43-of-82). Martin played for two other pro teams this season before landing in Germany. He played five games in Hungary (averaged 13.2 points and 6.0 boards) and 12 in South Korea (averaged 7.3 points and 3.6 rebounds).
Wohlleb (Boca Raton, Fla.), a 2008 graduate, is seeing significant playing time in Romania for CSU Cuadripol SCM Brasov. He is averaging 16.6 points and 6.4 boards per contest, while shooting 52.2-percent from the field, 37.7-percent from long distance, and 85.5-percent from the charity stripe.
