Chambers Named A-Sun Player of the Week
Monday, December 14, 2009

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Reggie Chambers delivered a perfect shooting night in the Atlantic Sun Game of the Week against FIU to win the second Player of the Week award of his career, the conference office announced on Monday.

The sophomore guard shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the field as he finished with 16 points aiding the Eagles to an 81-64 victory against FIU last week. Chambers sparked the Eagles offense as he scored 14 of his 16 points in the first seven minutes of the game. He drilled four 3-pointers, the last of which he banked, as FGCU opened up a 33-17 first-half lead. The communications major from Miramar, Fla. also dished out a career-high seven assists against the Golden Panthers.

Chambers became the seventh player in the nation, and second player in the conference, this season to register a perfect shooting night from the field while making at least four 3-point field goals joining Kennesaw State’s Kelvin McConnell. When factoring in his seven assists, no player in the nation has combined the shooting performance with the number of assists in a game this season.
