Men's Basketball Announces Staff Changes

FORT MYERS, Fla. - FGCU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dave Balza has announced that Leo Miller has been promoted to Assistant Coach from Director of Basketball Operations. Sean Egan has been named Director of Basketball Operations.

“I am happy to be able to bring Leo back on the floor this year,” said Balza. “He is an excellent teacher of the game and our student-athletes will benefit from his experience. Sean will be a great addition to our staff. He is a tireless worker and will play an important role in the every-day operations of our program.”

Miller will be in his fifth season with the program and has served in a variety of different positions. His first three seasons, he spent time as a volunteer assistant coach. Prior to last season, Miller was named the Director of Basketball Operations. Miller is a Massachusetts high school coaching legend and has been elected to both the Massachusetts and New England Basketball Hall of Fame and is just one of four coaches in the state to amass 600 or more victories.

Sean Egan came to FGCU from Mercy College in New York where he was recruiting coordinator and assistant coach. Prior to Mercy, he served in the same role at Globe Institute of Technology since 2005. He has also served as the Head Coach for Team Globe in the Island Garden Semi-Pro Summer League for the past four years while running Eastern Invitational Summer Camps. He previously worked at New York Tech from 2000-05 as an assistant coach. He began his coaching career working as a student assistant at Savannah College of Art and Design under legendary New York Knick Cazzie Russell.
