FORT MYERS, Fla., - FGCU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dave Balza announced the signing of 6-10 center Christian Wolf. Wolf, the eighth signee for FGCU, completes the signing class for FGCU this season.

A native of Kohler, Wis., Wolf averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds per contest as a senior for Kohler, where he played for his father Jeff. He was named 1st Team All-State Division Four and 4th team All-State in Wisconsin (all divisions) during his senior year. A four year starter for Kohler, He was a three time All-Central Lakeshore Conference selection and two time All-Area (Sheboygan, Wis.) selection. Following his senior season, he was selected to play in the Wisconsin Division four All-Star Game, which will be on June 21st in Madison, Wis. Wolf comes from a family of skilled basketball players as his father Jeff was a four-year letterwinner for North Carolina and his uncle Joe Wolf enjoyed an 11 year NBA career after four years at North Carolina. FGCU assistant Nick Bennett, a native of Wisconsin, was instrumental in the recruiting of the final piece of the recruiting class.

“We are very excited to cap off our recruiting class with Christian Wolf. He is a young man of high character that will fit in well with our team,” stated Balza. “He already has the physical tools to help us this year. Plus, I believe his ceiling is high because of his work ethic and the multiple tools that he possesses. He really understands how to play because he has been taught the game well. He can pass, shoot, defend and score around the basket. He is a tremendous addition to our recruiting class.”

Wolf joins fellow freshmen Reggie Chambers, Eddie Murray, Anthony Banks and Addison Smith and junior college transfers Ben Vega, George Erkvania and Derrick O’Neil.
