Eagles Fall To Dolphins 74-55
Jacksonville, Fla. - Casey Wohlleb scored 13 points as the Eagles lost their first A-Sun Conference game of the season to the Jacksonville Dolphins by the final score of 74-55.
The Dolphins improve to 5-8 overall and 2-0 in the A-Sun while the Eagles fall to 5-5 and 1-1 in the league.
The Eagles came out strong and took a quick 12-point lead as they began the game with a 16-4 run over the first seven minutes of the game. Jacksonville answered the Eagles run by cutting that 12-point deficit in half to make the score 27-21 with five minutes to go in the first half. The Dolphins then closed the half on a 16-7 run to take a three-point lead at the half.
In the second half, the Eagles were unable to cut into JU's lead. The Dolphins pushed their lead to eight in the first five minutes and never looked back as the Eagles were only able to pull within six points in the final 15 minutes.
The Eagles got 13 points from Wohlleb, who shot 5-of-19 (26.3 percent) from the floor. Wohlleb also grabbed six boards and dished out four assists. Adam Liddell and Delvin Franklin had 10 apiece.
After two straight on the road, the Eagles return home on Friday, Jan. 11 to take on Stetson for Beasley Buck and Blue-Out Night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
