Men's Basketball Falls at FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla., - FGCU fell to 3-6 after a 69-55 loss at Florida Atlantic on Saturday night. The Owls improve to 2-7 with the win.

FAU opened the game on an 8-0 run as Sean Alarcon drilled a three to start the scoring. FGCU got on the board at the 15:44 mark with a three from Delvin Franklin (Houston, Texas). FAU would slowly pull away, limiting the Eagles to 21.4% from the floor in the first half and forcing 10 turnovers. Carlos Monroe for the Owls was 6-for-8 from the floor in the first, scoring 12 points for the hosts. FAU took a 30-15 lead into the break.

FAU opened the second half on a 9-3 run to open up a 23 point lead. FGCU was unable to mount a rally and only got within 13 the rest of the game. A styfling FAU defense limited the Eagles to 30.8% from the floor during the game.

Carlos Monroe led all players with 26 points. Sean Alarcon added 12 while Carderro Nwoji added 10.

Landon Adler (Decatur, Ind.) led the Eagles with 18 points and added nine rebounds. Terieke Barrowes added nine points to go with 12 rebounds. Casey Wohlleb (Boca Raton, Fla.) added 11 points, all in the second half.

The Eagles will be in action again when they travel to Army next Thursday.
