In less than 20 years, FGCU has built a competitive NCAA Division I athletics program composed of 15 teams. In particular, the Eagles gained national acclaim and was christened "Dunk City" for the men's basketball team's phenomenal run to the Sweet 16 in March of 2013. We are proud of our Green and Blue and for the recognition, all of our teams have received for their many accomplishments both on and off the playing venues.

With a record-breaking 3.35 cumulative grade point average from the most recent semester (spring 2018), our student-athletes have held a significantly higher average GPA than the overall student population (2.99) for 18-straight semesters. In fact, 38 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 in the spring of 2018 and 88 (35 percent of the entire student-athlete population) had a 3.5 GPA or better.
